Enter the goal
Add a goal name and target amount, then create the goal. You can create multiple goals and switch between them in Goal details.
Choose a mode
Estimate the date from a monthly saving amount, or work backward from a target date to find the required monthly saving.
Add deposits
Add a deposit record whenever you save money. Progress and remaining amount update from the sum of all deposits.
Review the details
Goal details list each goal, target amount, total saved, and progress. Deposit details list the deposits for the active goal.
When should I use Savings Goal?
Use it for travel funds, emergency funds, car funds, down payments, tuition, weddings, or moving costs. Set a goal, then add deposits to see how far total savings are from the target.
How is this different from a compound interest calculator?
Savings Goal only tracks principal accumulation. It does not include investment return, inflation, or compounding. Use the compound interest calculator for annual returns, recurring investments, or long-term growth estimates.
Will my data be uploaded?
No. Goal settings and deposit records stay in your browser localStorage and are not sent to the server. They will not sync if you clear browser data or switch devices.
How does target-date planning work?
The tool estimates the months between today and the target date, treating less than one month as one month. It divides the remaining amount by that month count and rounds up.
How do deposit records affect progress?
Progress is calculated by dividing the active goal’s deposit total by its target amount. Adding or deleting a deposit updates total saved, remaining amount, and goal details.
